World 2-3 Endless 1-Ups
If you keep stomping on the Koopa Troopa at the place that looks like a staircase, you can get back-to-back extra lives. This is a handy trick that will let you keep getting extra lives without using any special moves, if you can pull it off.
This old trick is harder than it looks. Stick close to the wall and jump straight up. It's also important to time your jumps with the Koopa Troopa's descent.
Until the Koopa Troopa comes down, stick close to the wall. It doesn't matter what step you're on.
Release the + Control Pad, press the jump button, and jump straight up. Do this the instant the Koopa Troopa comes down to the second step above Mario. Adjust the length of time the jump button is pressed, and keep your jump on the small side for better precision.
Mini Mario 1
World 3-2 Super Play
In this super play footage, Mini Mario shows off his special characteristics by using Bullet Bills as stepping stones and making it to the goal without touching the ground once.
First, you've got to get used to riding Bullet Bills. Move carefully so that you don't fall, adjusting your airtime and landing trajectory while in midair. Midair spins are an important technique, since they can extend your flight distance!
First, practice so that you can get to the goal by riding Bullet Bills. The trick is to keep pressing the jump button, adjusting the time you spend in the air with midair spins.
Bring as many Bullet Bills as you can to the goal with you. The trick is to keep Mario near the center of the group. When you get to the goal, the more Bullet Bills on screen, the more extra lives you can get.
Once you get the hang of it, use a ground pound to defeat Bullet Bills flying to the left, or enemies walking along the ground. You can adjust the height of your jump by pressing (or not pressing) the jump button when you stomp on the enemy, so pay attention to the Bullet Bills' positions and adjust your position accordingly.
Mini Mario 2
World 1-5 Super Play
Use Mini Mario to clear the course before you know it with smooth, speedy gameplay—cutting out as much excess movement as possible.
The trick is to play so that there's no wasted movement, stomping on as many enemies as you can on the way. It's vital to adjust the length of time you press the jump button, and to adjust the distance you spend in the air with midair spins.
In the first half, keep the dash button and the right button on the + Control Pad pressed, and find a route where you won't get hung up on blocks. If you stomp on a Koopa Troopa, your airtime during the jump will increase, which makes things easier. Use midair spins well, too.
If the spot shown in the photo at left is difficult, you can "fly" through it by going from the foothold on the first screw all the way to the other side in one jump. To get through with no wasted movement, it's important to avoid the spinning mushroom cubes as much as possible.
Finally, if you stomp on all three Koopa Paratroopas on your way to the goal, it looks amazing! Try to adjust your flight distance with midair spins between Koopa Paratroopas.
